Troop 2319 is a Scouts BSA troop located in Marietta, GA. Our scouts are active with Troop, District, & Council events. Our primary mission is to provide a quality and fun scouting program using the traditional Boy Scout methods. We are primarily a youth led organization with meetings, activities, and campouts determined and planned by the youth Senior Patrol Leader and his Patrol Leaders Council.
This weekend the Troop went to Allatoona Aquatic Base to camp and put in some service back to Atlanta Area Council to help with the annual Day of Fire! Had a small group of scouts brave the cold last weekend for a quick overnight hike down at Pine Mountain. It was a great hike to learn what you should and should not bring on a backpacking trek, how to cook on a backpacking trek, and of course, the importance of dressing in layers. What better in November than a weekend focused solely on cooking! And more than just that, alternative cooking methods with foods you don’t see as often on campouts. We spent just about the entire day cooking one thing or another, from fresh fried apple fritters, to silver turtle chili dogs, to homemade from scratch bread, it was all delicious!! The scouts capped off the night with songs and jokes around the fire, what a great weekend. Can’t wait to see what recopies scouts come up with on our next campout! We came, we cleaned, we helped, we learned.. Project Chimps is always a really cool place for a weekend outing. Project Chimps helps care for past research and rescue chimps. While there, we learned a lot about the chimps living there, helped build some new toys for them, and more. What a cool and caring place that we’re happy to help support and care for. Troop 2319 spent a great weekend at Camp Westin working on the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge! We worked on different methods to make fire, making shelters, and just had a great time camping!
