Family Life Merit Badge

Introduction:

If you are a non Troop 2319 scout, please download and fill out the Family Life Merit Badge Workbook and review with your own merit badge counselor.

Start Tracking Your Chores for 90 Days

Requirement 3 specifies:  Prepare a list of your regular home duties or chores (at least five) and do them for 90 days. Keep a record of how often you do each of them. Discuss with your counselor the effect your chores had on your family.

Requirements 1,2,& 7 to do on your own:

For Requirements 1, 2, & 7 you will need to answer some questions about family, what it means to you, how you think family members affect each other, and what you think each member’s roles and responsibilities are. Click HERE to Submit your Answers for These Questions.

Family Meeting:

Requirement 6 specifies that you plan and carry out a family meeting (or as many as you need to cover the required topics).  Watch the video below for an overview of how to have your family meeting. Print out 2 copies of the list from the file below.

Keep one, and give the other to a parent or guardian ahead of time so that they know what you plan to talk about.  A family meeting doesn’t have to be formal, it can also be when you are on a family road trip, or sitting together at or after a meal.  But it’s important that electronic devices are turned off and that everyone is listening to each other because the topics being discussed are important.
