Troop 2319 had another great work day for an Eagle Project yesterday at Unity North Atlanta. Steven D. lead his fellow scouts and friends in the building of three new wheel chair accessible picnic tables. Well done Steven! And a big thank you to all who helped on the project.
Wow, it has been tough keeping up with all the things happening in Troop 2319 lately, if you’re like me and need a recap, Cameron D. lead his fellow scouts in executing his Eagle Project the weekend before last. The goal was to build six additional benches for Unity North Atlanta and it looks like Cameron did a fantastic job leading is fellow scouts to accomplish his goal. But don’t take my word for it, click the image below to see the full album of photos form the project!

Mr. Hamaker & Mr. Akers lead a really great group of excited scouts on their first ride of for the Cycling MB (Mountain Biking Edition). Looks like this MB is going to be a big hit! And what could be better than a MB that gets scouts out and together while still allowing for social distancing while riding. Only a couple pics so far, but i’m sure there will be more to come as the group completes more of their rides.
The troop really lucked out with the great weather this past weekend. Things got a little chilly Friday night, but not too bad. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky on Sat. and it warmed up a fair amount. Most of the scouts camping this weekend chose to either work on either Leatherwork or Wood Carving and several of the scouts who completely the pre-requisites were able to get the entire MBs done! If you missed the re-requisites, check go back and check out the video links that were emailed out prior to the campout on Jan 16th, watch the videos, and complete the MB worksheets for any requirements you need to complete. Overall it was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend with great weather and lots of fellowship time around the campfires.

Troop 2319!!! Once again our Troop has earned the Gold Level for the annual Journey to Excellence for the BSA. Many thanks to all the hard work and dedication from Scouts & Scouters alike to put together our great program. In this crazy year our Troop did not miss a beat and as we said all year, Scouting Continues. Our 2020 JTE Gold Rockers are in! And we will send out information in the next few weeks on how we will be distributing the JTE Rockers.
We may have been having our annual Halloween Party at our troop meeting this past week, but that didn’t stop three scouts from getting their new ranks presented! Congratulations to Garrett E. (Felix the Cat), Max P. (Cowboy), & Cole W. (Mad Scientist) on getting their Scout Rank presented. Way to go you guys!
The Troop seemed to have a great time this past weekend at Foothills District Camporall! We really enjoying getting to spend the time with our Arrow of Light guests from Pack 710 and Pack 1417. Thanks for joining us this weekend! The scouts spent the morning working on first aid and fire making and finishing up a lot of partial advancements that they have accumulated over the last few months. Great work everyone! The weather was just about perfect, sunny and comfortable during the day and cold enough that we got to have a nice big fire on Saturday night. I think everyone is already looking forward to the next campout at Allatoona Aquatics Base, check your email for the sign up link!
